
Prime Minister of North Macedonia Dimitar Kovachevski was received today at Maximos Palace. Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
During the meeting, the leaders of the two countries reviewed bilateral relations and reaffirmed their desire to deepen them.
Particular attention was paid to the serious challenge of the energy crisis that the whole of Europe is experiencing. The leaders of the two countries discussed the prospects for multi-level cooperation in the field of energy and, in particular, in infrastructure issues, as well as the need to diversify energy sources and strengthen interconnection.
Greece, stressed the Prime Minister, can contribute in this direction thanks to the infrastructure it is developing on the energy map and its position in the interest of the energy security of the region, thus emphasizing its leading role in South Eastern Europe.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis congratulated his colleague on the recent convening of the 1st Intergovernmental Conference between North Macedonia and the EU. He reaffirmed Greece’s support for the accession process of North Macedonia based on established criteria, respect for good neighborly relations and full, consistent and faithful implementation of the Prespa Agreement as part of the enlargement process.
