To immediately take a stand public post of PASOK MP Burkhan Baranin which it recognizes as Turkish the Muslim minority in Thraceas the announcement says, New Democracy is calling the president of the party, Nikos Androulakis.
“Muslim MP for PASOK in Xanthi, Burhan Baran, in his public post, declares himself a member of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Committee (BTTA Danışma Kurulu), announces a pseudo-mufti as a candidate, and invites Greek Muslims to come to the “elections” on 9/9. Moreover, he boldly declares that he will support any chosen one!
It is a shame for the Greek MP to essentially call the minority “Turkish” and call on Muslim citizens to participate in the election of a new pseudo-mufti Xanthi, that is, unrecognized by the state.
PASOK President Take a Stand: Why is he detaining an MP who recognizes a minority as “Turkish”? Does PASOK respect Greek law? Do they follow or not the legal procedure for electing a mufti that Parliament voted for a few weeks ago?”
According to reportsThe incident caused discomfort in PASOK. Secretary K.O. from the gospel party, Liakulis demanded an explanation from the deputy, and the latter is expected to make a statement, while the possibility of his removal cannot be ruled out.
