Determined to expand Turkey’s spheres of influence, President Erdogan is presented by reclaiming references to the borders of the Turkish center that extend beyond the borders of modern Turkey.
“Renewal of political geography entails renewal of security doctrines. The growing power of our country in all spheres of influence, from the Mediterranean to the Black Sea, from the Balkans to the Caucasus, is the result of this new period,” the Turkish President said today, at the same time pointing to countries such as the United States, Greece and France.
“We are clearly concerned that countries that are supposedly our allies maintain a hostile attitude, as well as the support they give to countries that demonstrate such an attitude. But we are moving forward looking at the gains and losses in our relationship, and we do not neglect building new partnerships to meet our needs,” said the Turkish leader, who also remembers the boundaries of the Turkish heart.
“When we created our state after a military victory, even the places where the heroes of this victory were born and raised remained outside our borders. Our soul and our heart are always there, in the places that our ancestors watered with blood and sweat, as well as with their deeds, although today (these places) are no longer ours,” the Turkish president said, among other things.
