It is noted that Nikos Dendias is at the annual meeting of Croatian ambassadors in Zagreb as a guest of his Croatian counterpart.

In this context, Mr. Dendias highlighted the excellent level of relations between the two countries, which are celebrating the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year, stressing that, according to diplomatic sources, these relations are a model for the wider Balkan region.

In his speech, he reviewed the main priorities of Greece’s foreign policy, which revolves around six main axes: 1) Europe, 2) Middle East, North Africa and the Persian Gulf, 3) Western Balkans, 4) USA, 5) Africa, Asia, Latin America and 6) Multilateralism.

Finally, he referred to the European perspective of the Western Balkans, which, according to the same sources, is the only way to build stability and avoid a resurgence of revisionism in the region.

Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Croatia

Earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece was warmly welcomed by his Croatian counterpart Gordan Grlic Radman.

During the meeting, they discussed the further deepening of bilateral cooperation, based on the dynamics of recent years, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Twitter.

“I must say that relations between Greece and Croatia have reached full maturity after 30 years,” Mr. Dendias said in a statement to the Croatian news agency HINA on the sidelines of the conference.

“This year marks the 30th anniversary of our diplomatic relations. And I must say that Greek-Croatian relations are a success story for the EU and for the Balkans,” he said.

“We will continue to work together, jointly consider the issues of our region and jointly strive for the Western Balkans to become part of our European family,” he said.

During his stay in the Croatian capital, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will be received by Croatian President Zoran Milanovic, and he himself will take part in a working dinner organized by his Croatian counterpart.

This visit to Zagreb, the fifth visit by the Minister of Foreign Affairs to Croatia since taking office, shows the importance of strengthening bilateral ties with other European countries that share the same values ​​as Greece.
