Katrinis: Why were you following Andrulakis? Submit the complete file to the Institutions Committee

PASOK-KINAL is asking the Committee on Institutions and Transparency to provide it with a complete dossier with all data and relevant documents, as stated by the head of the KO, Michalis Katrinis, during a discussion of surveillance.

Mr Katrinis urged the prime minister to answer: if Nikos Androulakis is a threat to public safety, why is he being followed and who gave the order. “You called Nikos Androulakis to get to know him, but after observing him, he does not enter into transactions and is not a convenient partner either with you or with Mr. Tsipras, who is now serving as a guest of honor,” said Mr Katrinis.

“Mr. Mitsotakis has lost an outwardly good testimony. Doesn’t inspire confidence, doesn’t inspire confidence. He put his political survival ahead of the country and democratic institutions. This is a problem for political stability and order in the country, not only today, but also in the future,” said the head of the PASOK parliamentary group.

He pointed out that the government’s goal is to cover up the truth and those responsible for the wiretapping scandal. He said history is repeating itself as the 1990-1993 period is being revived in 2022 and urged the prime minister to answer the question of what other politicians or public figures are being monitored. “Who else was or is under EYP surveillance these days? You do not know; Didn’t you ask to know? Not interested? Mitsotakis, it’s not about making excuses by saying you didn’t know. The question is who believes you. Because even the leaders of your faction do not believe you,” Mr. Katrinis stressed.

“I invite you to make clear the national security reason you invoke and for which you followed the PASOK leader. And since you obviously won’t do it, because there is no such reason, then you resort to arguments at the level that the chairman of PASOK should personally come to inform him. That is, secretly and by ear. Well, President PASOK won’t go. And it forces you to publicly say what you have to say,” Mr. Katrinis said, addressing the Prime Minister.

Did he challenge the prime minister by asking him to tell the truth and answer a question? Which other politicians can be watched? “The actions of the government and the EMP are a blow to democracy,” said the head of the PASOK-Movement for Change, K.O. He quoted Anastasios Peponis, who, in his sermon on the wiretapping case in 1993, said that “ND has integrated parastatal structures into the state.”

In addition, Michalis Katrinis commented on Mr. Mitsotakis’ report that “whoever votes for PASOK votes for SYRIZA”, stating that whoever votes for PASOK votes for the defense of the rule of law and democracy. “She votes for them both to leave. We continue the autonomous course of PASOK,” Mr. Katrinis added, sharply criticizing the official opposition as well. “The logic of the SYRIZA establishment, which instrumentalizes justice and insists on party control of institutions, is far from us. PASOK will guarantee the building of the rule of law with the power given to it by the citizens. Against the semi-state personnel that came into being through this unhealthy practice. Against the anti-institutional practices that we encountered under the SYRIZA-ANEL government, which gave examples of extreme authoritarianism, with an attempt to control the media, using justice to destroy political opponents. But this is not a democratic function,” he said, emphasizing: “PASOK is not playing anybody’s game. He is the guarantor of democratic legitimacy, far from the opportunistic invitations to the Fronts that some create in their minds.”
