
The death toll in the explosion at the Surmalu Wholesale and Retail (TC) Center in the Armenian capital Yerevan has reached 16. This was announced on Tuesday, August 16, by the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES). .
During search and rescue operations, 16 bodies were found, of which six have been identified, ten have yet to be identified.
61 victims turned to medical institutions in Yerevan, 13 of them remain in treatment, 48 received assistance and were discharged.
18 people were missing
On the morning of August 16, 18 people were reported missing. According to the press secretary of the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations Hayk Kostanyan, one of them is a Russian citizen. As follows from the list, we are talking about Lyubov Gribova, born in 1959. In addition to her, there is another foreigner on the list, the Iranian citizen Mehdi Tahreri. The rest of the missing are citizens of Armenia.
On August 15, 185 rescuers participated in the work on site, 20 water carriers, seven additional equipment from Yerevan municipality were involved.
Nikol Pashinyan visited the scene of the incident
