
The Top Stories web post identified four Russian military personnel involved in robbing, looting and killing civilians in the village of Andreevka, Kyiv region, Ukraine, which was under the control of the Russian army from late February to early April. One of them confessed to war crimes and asked to punish his commanders, writes the newspaper on Monday, August 15.
According to the publication, during the retreat, the Russian military left hundreds of houses destroyed and looted in the village, more than a dozen dead civilian bodies, as well as 25 photographs taken on the phone stolen from one of the villagers. In these photographs, journalists identified servicemen Daniil Frolkin, Dmitry Danilov, Ruslan Glotov and Ivan Shepelenko of the 64th brigade of motorized marines stationed in Khabarovsk territory.
“Many Andreevka residents we spoke to remembered the soldiers in these photos. Judging by the villagers’ stories, they may have been involved in robberies, looting and even murder,” writes Important Stories. The publication established contacts with the Russians, two of whom agreed to speak with reporters. Daniil Frolkin at first denied involvement in the murders and later claimed that he had killed a man in Andreevka.
Frolkin’s Confession
“I, a soldier of military unit 51460, corporal guard Daniil Andreevich Frolkin, confess to all the crimes I committed in Andreevka, of shooting the civilian population, robbing the civilian population, confiscating their phones and that our command is in the cold.. doesn’t put our fighters, all the infantry fighting on the front line, on the front line,” Frolkin said under the video. He also asked to bring to justice the commanders of the 64th brigade – Azatbek Omurbekov, Sergei Dmitrenko, Vyacheslav Klobukov, Denis Romanenko and Andrei Prokurat.
According to Frolkin, in March the commanders asked him and several other soldiers to accompany them on a search of the homes of three Andreevka residents. One of them was shot dead by a Russian soldier. “Judging by the details that Frolkin remembers, we are talking about the murder of Vadim Ganyuk, Vitaly Kibukevich and Ruslan Yaremchuk on March 12. also present in the searches, and he confirms that Frolkin shot this particular person,” the report reads.
