Navalny associates released a film about Putin’s ex-wife

Alexei Navalny’s associates released a film about Vladimir Putin’s ex-wife Lyudmila. The 44-minute video was posted on the opposition politician’s YouTube channel on Thursday, August 4. A significant part of the film is devoted to the sources of income of the ex-wife of the President of Russia, the main of which, according to the authors, is a historic mansion in the center of Moscow, transferred to her by the city authorities.

According to the researchers, in the 2000s, Lyudmila Putina supervised the Center for the Development of the Russian Language, created especially for her. The Moscow mayor’s office and the department of presidential affairs transferred to him a mansion built in 1774 on Vozdvizhenka Street, near the Kremlin, and a plot of land in the center of the capital. It was renovated, built on two floors and renamed the “Center for the Development of Interpersonal Communication”.

It is now led by Lyudmila Putina’s new husband, Artur Ocheretny, whose surname the Russian president’s ex-wife took over in 2015. Artur Ocheretny leases the building worth 10 billion rubles to his wife’s Meridian, which owns it. subleases to Sberbank, VTB and other commercial projects. According to Navalny’s associates, Lyudmila Ocheretnaya earns more than 250 million rubles a year from rent.

According to the authors of the film, the “Center for the Development of Interpersonal Communications” also receives funding from Moscow City Hall, Gazprombank and Severstal, which raises about 415 million rubles a year, which Artur Ocheretny’s company lends to Meridian. With this money Arthur Ocheretny buys apartments and houses in the south of France, Switzerland and Spain. Investigators estimate the total value of real estate abroad at almost 600 million rubles. According to them, Ocheretnye, in particular, owns a villa in Biarritz, France, an apartment in Davos, Switzerland, and two apartments in Malaga, Spain.

Lyudmila and Artur Ocheretny are not included on EU sanctions lists, Navalny associates say. The UK imposed sanctions against Lyudmila Ocheretnaya in May.
