
In Russia, 14,638 new cases of coronavirus infection were recorded per day. This is the highest number since April 6 and is 5,078 more cases than the day before. A day earlier, on August 2, 9,560 new cases of COVID-19 were detected. A message about this was published on Wednesday, August 3, on the Telegram channel “Stopcoronavirus.rf”.
The biggest increase in new cases of covid infection was recorded in Moscow (up 5,720, the highest number since February 20). St. Petersburg follows (1,781 more cases) and the Moscow region (906 more cases).
The number of people hospitalized was 2,038, up 3.9% from Aug. 43 people died from the effects of COVID-19 in the last day.
During the summer, the risk of contracting COVID-19 increased. The reason for this is the spread of new subvariants of the Omicron strain.
