I have always been surprised by the naivety with which educated heads, hard-working intellectuals (even to the point of sacrificing day/night, home/table, family/health) after years and decades of studies and research into the history of human misfortunes, assert and declare with surprise, with surprise, with childlike innocence: Unfortunately, but all of these (i.e. big criminals, Tatars, satraps, dictators), they were like us! They also had aesthetic passions and tastes; they collected literature and art, listened to classical music, adored their children, pampered their wives and mistresses, had moments of touching tenderness, almost to the max… So: Unfortunately, they were human just like us

This is the conclusion – true but childish, honest but futile – that led him (I repeat:) years and decades of reading and paperwork, rummaging through all tattered and allergy-inducing archives for small details, documents, papers and 2 penny confessions ( so that I don’t say shit) those. Why do I not welcome such a conclusion and statement? Because in the case of such colleagues, what disappoints me is not so much the complete ignoring of human ethology and psychology, but rather the avoidance and failure due to not completing one’s own opinion, one’s own conclusion, one’s intellectual intellectual achievement. .

Namely, what is not Theyor not and they (the tyrants in question) were normal people, like you and me, like all of us. But this all of us, that is, you and I are (potentially) the same as Them. Because even they, in childhood and youth, were (albeit partially) quite ordinary or banal, maybe even decent, full of poetic dreams and innocent ideas. How they developed in different circumstances, events, opportunities and socio-political conditions, neither their mothers who pampered them, nor the governesses, educators, priests or professors who brought them up impeccably could know. So talk of “6-7 years at home”, with culture and schools attended, is often as empty and empty talk as talk of diplomas, doctorates, positions, degrees and medals. And, in the end, “character” or “moral integrity” don’t matter either, as long as, confusing science with hope, you believe that it is something received, fixed, and remains infallibly the same for everyone, the price of life is the whole.

In a somewhat more mediocre environment (such as today’s commercial, inclusive or tolerant and undemanding, where the number of students is important rather than quality, vocation or competence), if he had been encouraged about his watercolors or paid some colleagues to help him paint , perhaps the young Adolf H. would become an international anonymous, and for German-speaking countries – a historically acceptable name of the artist (with some frescoes on the walls of churches or luxurious villas, from the paintings that covered the walls of interwar hotel rooms). Wasn’t Franco the bravest and most famous Spanish general that even a slightly stupid people would put in charge if there was a vote/plebiscite. He personally hesitated and asked for time to think when he was invited, offered or chosen by his own junta. So he should have died a military pensioner from the age of ten. Just after the installation of the leader, the fascism of the country + related crimes became a long historical cascade or avalanche. And Stalin and Pinochet will be sucked by tender mother’s breasts, and will even worship the same Most Pure Mother as the Sicilian mafiosi.

Historiographers have been able to decipher and beautifully document countless such situations, so I dare not rummage through other relevant chests. There is no place to refer to the virtues of psychohistory (a disciplinary field foreign to Romanians), although the latter could illuminate not only famous and terrible situations, but even some deflated or somewhat avoided, but with a great potential to become just as famous in a terrible sense throughout the world, absolutely constant/continuous. Historians, however, are completely unable to indicate the present, not to mention the fact that in 1 year, 2, 3-4 years. Or it may be possible because, including in connection with many high leaders and many candidates for various governments, it is already known how many crimes (evident or covered) they have already become capable of, what morals, trends, ideas and passionate ideologies – s marked why opportunistic and miserly cliques are surrounded and thrust upward and forward. And yet… Nevertheless, these leaders find ways to charm and deceive the people, on the one hand, and on the other – to represent millions and millions of belligerent haughty, upstart speculators, pessimistic and opportunistic outcasts, greedy and vengeful disenchanted. I mean a lot of people, like all people. None of these factually truthful leaders ignore history. It’s just that their selfishness pushes them to adore her in what she was/is more barbaric and useless, even wanting to continue everything as it was, even considering that this repetition is the only profitable continuation for them. Any political figure who lacks humility and the desire to selflessly serve carries the cane of a criminal Tatar in a bag full of patriotic and populist sawdust.

In fact, the “charm and stupidity” I referred to as a preference for political tricks is not a one-sided negative that can only be blamed and smeared as an unjust weapon or perversion of spirit belonging to political leaders and hidden unbelievers. “Charm/stupidity” is also related to the openness or receptiveness of the electorate, to their “weakness” to identify themselves and want to be iron-armed and powerful bosses, because the desire to rule, dominate, profit and keep under control trampling others is an instinct and impulse, which knocks on the eternally shaky door of all human psychology. Each of us can have an autocratic will to power, the pleasure of taking advantage of others. We are all born with it (because it depends on the instinct of survival at any cost, which quickly develops in the subconscious biography in the need to ensure its existence, raising itself above others, subordinating them). And few of us get rid of these tendencies, few of us eradicate them or do not allow them to really rule us (even in the bosom of our own couple, family). We have selfishness and hatred as active foundations at all times at the disposal of the entire biophysical, affective, volitional body, even more so at the disposal of the primary, fundamental, integral psyche. But you need a lot of culture, and even more religion (i.e. conscious/incorporated or generalized, as in the extreme case of saints and great ignorant hermits) to purge the “reptilian brain” or archaeocortex of anything theoretically called evil or malignant, not only in the active mode, but also in the potential mode. But the denial and eradication of egophilias, which can lead the antisocial, self-expanding self to despotism, to the lust to enslave or destroy others, is not the popular goal of self-domestication and emancipation, true Self-realization. .

Briefly/very briefly, the idea is that any derailment begins, or at least can begin, with an almost normal start, normal at best, even extremely normal, cool, positive. No one can predict when and how someone will go crazy (we will!). And the idea, the principle and the law that spoke (still speak) about it democratically (official) is a barrier and a shield against dictatorships, authoritarianism and lawlessness, here we see them (again, we, that is, in front of our eyes) cracked, fragile, so they will not last. We see that democracy, as we keep telling ourselves or wishing, is a myth and an ideal, because, look, it can renounce itself and collapse like a smoke screen. Individuals like you and me, therefore, including me and myself, given access to possibly excessive and authoritarian power, under circumstances conducive to abuse, we could become, we could also do bad things like what we did others, and – other tyrants, idiots, scoundrels, dictators, criminals. _
