In the absence of such a peace dictated by crime and aggression, freezing this conflict with or without a ceasefire is the best option for Russia. Against the background of the prolongation of the conflict, a scenario is taking shape for Ukraine, which, like the Korean peninsula, will be divided by a demarcation line. Another cold war is returning to Europe, and the border between the two worlds passes in the immediate vicinity of Romania.

Such a suspended but never ended conflict would mean a victory for Putin. The Russian Empire, moved to the west, would hold the whole of Eastern and Central Europe captive, and the Black Sea would remain under the threat of its weapons. What will emerge is not peace, but confrontation, which will require a persistent rearmament effort to stop Russia’s advance, this time toward our countries.

The war in Ukraine once again confirmed the solidarity between the Russian nation and Russian imperialism. Putin’s regime has not only gone unchallenged, but is still a repository of significant support. Neither sanctions nor international criticism affected the stability of the dictatorship. The Russians fed the human waves of the Russian army, and the uprising before this massacre did not disturb the peace of the autocracy.

The firmness of the autocracy is not an accident, but the result of upbringing and obedience cultivated over decades and centuries. For most Russians, the empire is more important than their own freedom and human dignity, this is the lesson of this war.
