… because this is what a Romanian soldier had to say when his officer praised him for some “bravery”: “I serve the Motherland!” I put “courage” in quotation marks because during Ceausescu’s time we shot blind bullets: at seventeen I shot with a Kalashnikov, a PSL, a 14 caliber, a TT, and an AG. and what not, he could still find it through the fence of the part in Zalau. I was transferred from the infantry to the “special forces” (as he called them – we were told we were “commandos”), but in the fall I picked corn near Satu Mare, which I felt from then on did not automatically qualify me for the status Mikhay Vityazula. Instead, I grew up on stories of bravery, from Harap Alba to Achilles and from Ioan Voda cel Cumplitus to Catherine Teodoriou. I dreamed of jumping out of the trenches shouting: “Go, boys! You’re with me!” And, in a dream, the “boys” followed me. You will excuse me, therefore, if I encounter insurmountable difficulties in trying to imagine Alde Nicolae Chuka or Lucian Bode, passing through fire, through smoke and a thousand bayonets, defending the fatherland and democracy, even reviving, through personal courage, entire armies. I don’t know how it is done, but these people, without having the courage to even resign, get into leadership positions, and even explain to us why they deserve it.

Why is it worth it? Why do these people deserve special pensions from the age of 45 or 50? Because they did their job if they did it! Work, not a duty! duty in Romanian – this would be done by volunteers who would go to defend their country. duty of the Romanian language and those who study honestly. Work military and I’m the one who gets paid for it! These days I hear how the Romanian army would shrink without special pensions! On the sidelines of the parliament they shouted: “If you love your country, do not touch the hand of the soldiers, so that there is no one to put a projectile into the pipe.!” Sorry? All these brave people shout loudly that they are ready to sacrifice their lives not for the country, but for… a special pension? And in my mind I see Ekaterina Teodoriou shouting from the trenches:In my opinion, guys, but only if they give us these special pensions! Otherwise, order instead!” Would a judge no longer wish to serve on the court if he did not have a special pension? Well, why stop here? A teacher should be paid if he goes to classes, a surgeon if he operates, an electrician if he changes a light bulb for you, and a shepherd if he tends sheep! Until the age of 45 – after which to retire, to return to the state! Read the rest on Contributors.ro
