Arán János, born in 1817 in Salonta, is considered one of the most famous classical Hungarian poets, becoming famous throughout Europe and beyond, especially for his 40 ballads. Which are translated into about 50 languages. Among 40 texts, many of them well-known, Balas Attila as director and Tar Monika as interpreter chose a part, found them and established the principle of coherence, which comes mainly from the convergence of themes, they developed a script that represents the dramaturgical support of the play Sister of the sun, a star. The first of a series of premieres, which will undoubtedly be offered to the public by a well-known and honorable institution of performances under the generous auspices Timisoara is the European cultural capital.

Of course, the premiere did not happen by chance Mother tongue day. Undoubtedly, both director and performer wanted to highlight the lyrics first and foremost, but they also intended the performance to mean something more than a pretty and, most importantly, useful poetic recitation. Its creators wanted to give it an aura of theatricality. Use art syncretism.

Sister of the sun, starlight it is a good show primarily because of the actress’s artistic abilities, which have been tested so many times in important theater productions, many of them large-scale. This is a useful show, because all generations of viewers without exception need a periodic return to the eternal values of culture. And as Sister of the sun, starlight benefits, as always, from Romanian subtitles, I think even viewers who don’t know Hungarian won’t be hurt if they go see it. They will enjoy an outstanding artistic performance by a performer who recites, sings, dances, supported by the scenography of Albert Alpar, choreography by Laszlo Šekrenjes, inspired music created by Balazs Mark, animation created by Balint Hunor. , visual effects that are very often inspired by the explosion of colors and transformations of nature invented by Sorin Mokan and of course the integrative contribution of the director. Restrained, not selfish or aggressive, granted by Balas Attila.

In addition to all this, the same Romanian-speaking viewers, together with their fellow Hungarians from Timisoara, are in for a big surprise. I will reveal it a little later. For now, I can say with pleasure that it is an example of the circulation of themes and motifs in European literature.

Naturally, for the surprise to be complete, a new Romanian translation of the ballads of Arani Janos was needed. The operation is more than difficult, classical texts, especially poems, require special talent. However, as I have noticed on other occasions, inexplicably we have very few Hungarian-to-Romanian translators and even fewer skilled in translating poetry. Will it be too much if in the footage presented Timisoara is the cultural capital of Europe Will a translation workshop be created? Read the whole article and comment on Contributors.ro
