
The Official Gazette published a Joint Ministerial Decision (JMP), which provides for an official extension of the period for the application of penalties (disincentive measures) for the lack of registration of citizens in “Personal Doctor“. Therefore, the originally envisaged extension from 1 December 2022 has been postponed to 1 April 2023.
The new ministerial decision, published in the government gazette, was signed by Finance Minister Christos Staikouras, Labor and Social Affairs Konstantinos Hatzidakis and Health Athanassios Plevris, as well as Deputy Finance Minister Theodoros Skilakakis.
Penalties according to the Official Gazette
So those who have not registered in the “Personal Doctor” before 1in April, they will be charged an additional fee of 10%, in addition to the participation rate determined on a case-by-case basis, for the costs of medicines, laboratory and diagnostic tests and surgeries, hospitalizations in private clinics and other benefits.
On the contrary, those who register will have priority from 01/01/2023 when planning visits to regular outpatient clinics in public secondary and tertiary care facilities.
According to data recently released by the responsible Minister of Health, Thanos Pleuris, there are currently 4,700,000 citizens and 3,400 doctors registered in the system.
