The Ministry of Health reported that 300 new cases of COVID-19 were registered in the last day, which is 369 less than the previous day. At the same time, 6 deaths were reported, News.ro reports.

“Over the last day, 300 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) were registered, which is 369 less than the previous day. 57 of the new cases in 24 hours are re-infected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection,” the Ministry of Health reported on Sunday.

96 new cases were registered in Bucharest. Counties with fewer than 100 cases each: Covasni, Giurgi, Gorgi, Hunedoara, Maramures and Salai, have not reported a single case.

In contrast to new confirmed cases, 24 people were confirmed positive after retesting patients who had already tested positive.

In specialized medical facilities, the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 1,103, which is 17 more than the previous day.

Also, 112 people were hospitalized in ATZ, which is 5 less than the previous day.

Of the 112 patients admitted to the HTI, 100 are unvaccinated. Of the total number of hospitalized, 64 are minors, 63 are hospitalized in wards, which is 6 less than the previous day, and 1 in the intensive care unit, as in the previous day.

By Sunday, 67,082 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 had died.

In the interval 08.10.2022 (10:00) – 09.10.2022 (10:00) INSP reported 6 deaths (5 men and 1 woman), there were no deaths before the control interval.

Out of 6 deaths, 1 was registered in the age category of 40-49 years, 1 in the age category of 60-69 years, 2 in the age category of 70-79 years and 2 in the age category over 80 years.

All the deceased had concomitant diseases, 2 of them were vaccinated.

Over the last day, 1,612 RT-PCR tests were conducted (747 – according to the diagnosis and medical protocol and 865 – according to the request) and 4,502 express antigen tests. To date, 13,529,151 RT-PCR tests and 11,686,250 rapid antigen tests have been processed at the national level.
