
Over the last day, 3,650 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Romania, which is 313 less than the previous day, the Ministry of Health reports.
709 of the new cases in 24 hours were re-infected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the initial infection.
In specialized healthcare facilities, the number of people hospitalized in the department with COVID-19 is 3,049which is 102 less than the previous day.
In addition, 251 people were hospitalized in ATI, by 3 more than the previous day. Of the 251 patients admitted to the ICU, 209 were unvaccinated. Out of the total number of hospitalized patients, 357 are minors, 355 of them are in the ward, which is 12 less than the previous day, and 2 are in the intensive care unit, 1 less than the previous day.
To date, 66,596 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 have died. In the period from 24.08.2022 (10:00) to 25.08.2022 (10:00) the INSP reports 20 deaths (10 men and 10 women), with no reports of death before the follow-up interval.
Among the 20 deceased, 5 were registered in the age category of 60-69 years, 7 – in the age category of 70-79 years, and 8 – in the age category of over 80 years. All the dead had concomitant diseases and 15 were unvaccinated.
