​For the last day, 4,107 new cases of COVID-19 were registered in Romania, which is 114 more than the previous day.

This is the highest number of daily cases since March.

856 of the new cases in 24 hours were re-infected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the initial infection.

The most new cases are in Bucharest, respectively 1123.

In specialized medical institutions, the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 1,693, which is 146 more than the previous day. Also, 101 people were hospitalized in ATZ, which is 2 more than the previous day. Of the 101 patients admitted to the ICU, 73 were unvaccinated.

Out of the total number of hospitalized patients, 259 are minors, 258 in the wards, which is 21 more than the previous day, 1 in intensive care, 1 more than the previous day.

In the last day, INSP reported 3 deaths (men). Out of 3 fatal cases, 2 were registered in the age category of 70-79 years and 1 – in the age category over 80 years. All deceased patients had concomitant diseases and were not vaccinated.

To date, 65,805 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 have died.

Over the last day, 4,032 RT-PCR tests were performed (2,262 based on case definition and medical protocol and 1,770 on request) and 14,467 rapid antigen tests. To date, 13,244,877 RT-PCR tests and 10,468,196 rapid antigen tests have been processed at the national level.
