​The number of COVID-19 cases is constantly increasing: 7,390 new diseases were registered in the last day, which is 261 more than the previous day. And the number of those hospitalized per day increased by more than 200. The most cases are in Bucharest – 1,394.

1,491 of the new cases in 24 hours were re-infected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the initial infection. In contrast to new confirmed cases, 272 people were confirmed positive after retesting patients who had already tested positive.

More than 2,600 patients were hospitalized

In specialized medical facilities, the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 2,636, which is 204 more than the previous day.

171 people were hospitalized in intensive care, which is 16 more than the previous day.

Of the 171 patients admitted to the ICU, 150 were unvaccinated.

Out of the total number of hospitalized patients, 439 are minors, 435 are in the wards, which is 53 more than the previous day, and 4 are in the intensive care unit, 1 more than the previous day.

7 deaths in the last day

From the beginning of the pandemic to today, 65,846 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 have died.

In the period from 21.07.2022 (10:00) to 22.07.2022 (10:00), the National Health Service reported 7 deaths (5 men and 2 women), there were no deaths before the control interval.

Out of 7 deaths, 1 was registered in the age category of 40-49 years, 1 in the age category of 50-59 years, 1 in the age category of 70-79 years, and 4 in the age category over 80 years.

6 of the registered deaths are patients who had co-morbidities, 1 patient has no co-morbidities to date.

Out of a total of 7 dead, one was vaccinated and 6 were unvaccinated.

How many Romanians were checked?

Over the last day, 4,591 RT-PCR tests were conducted (2,756 based on case definition and medical protocol and 1,835 on request) and 19,794 express antigen tests.

From the beginning of the pandemic to this date, 13,273,277 RT-PCR tests and 10,577,877 rapid antigen tests have been processed at the national level.
