
A total of 6,484 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection were registered over the past 24 hours, which is 906 less than the previous day, the Ministry of Health reported on Saturday, Agerpres reports.
According to the ministry, 1,278 new cases in 24 hours were from reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection.
The most new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection are in Bucharest – 1,687, and in the counties of Sibiu – 422, Timișoara – 308 and Ilfov – 270.
The infection rate is increasing. The capital is in the first place
The rate of infection in 14 days at the national level is 1,755 cases per thousand inhabitants. The highest incidence is in Bucharest – 6.09, followed by the counties of Ilfov – 4.33, Cluj – 3.84, Constanta – 3.65, Sibiu – 3.52, Brasov – 3.5.
Over the last day, 4,547 RT-PCR tests were conducted (2,712 according to the diagnosis and medical protocol and 1,835 according to the request) and 16,202 express antigen tests. To date, 13,277,824 RT-PCR tests and 10,594,079 rapid antigen tests have been processed at the national level.
A total of 3,002,662 cases of infection with the new coronavirus have been registered in Romania since the beginning of the pandemic.
In contrast to newly confirmed cases, 188 people tested positive again after retesting patients who had already tested positive.
Seven deaths in the last day. Almost 3,000 people were hospitalized
2,745 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized in specialized medical institutions, which is 109 more than the previous day, the Ministry of Health reported on Saturday.
170 patients are being treated at the ACI, one less than the previous day, of which 145 are unvaccinated against COVID.
Of the total number of hospitalized, 440 are minors, 1 more than the previous day, three are in intensive care units, the rest are in wards.
In the last day, seven deaths of patients with COVID-19 (three men and four women) were recorded.
Of the seven deaths, one was registered in the age category of 60-69 years and six in the age category over 80 years.
According to the Ministry of Health, all registered deaths are patients who had concomitant diseases.
Also, four deceased patients were not vaccinated against COVID, three were vaccinated.
