
Over the last day, 4,094 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection were registered, which is 2,390 less than the previous day, the Ministry of Health reported on Sunday. 186 patients are being treated in the HPT, which is 16 more than the previous day. 4 patients died in the last day.
According to the ministry, 780 of the new cases are re-infected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the initial infection.
The most cases are in Bucharest – 1,365 and in the counties of Ilfov – 264, Constanta – 229 and Prahova – 156.
The highest incidence rate for 14 days per thousand inhabitants is in Bucharest – 6.46, followed by Ilfov – 4.58, Cluj – 4.41, Constanta – 4.01, Brasov – 3.79, Sibiu – 3.7.
Over the last day, 3,047 RT-PCR tests were conducted (1,384 according to diagnosis and medical protocol and 1,663 according to request) and 10,264 express antigen tests.
At the same time, the ministry announced that 2,975 people were hospitalized with COVID-19, which is 230 more than the previous day.
186 patients are being treated in the ACI, 16 more than the previous day, of which 156 are unvaccinated against COVID.
Of the total number of hospitalized, 483 are minors, 480 are in wards, 43 more than the previous day, three are in intensive care, as in the previous day.
In the last day, four people (three men and one woman) died among patients with COVID-19. Of the four deaths, one was registered in the age category of 40-49 years, one in the age category of 50-59 years and two in the age category over 80 years.
According to the Ministry of Health, three of the registered deaths were patients with co-morbidities, and one patient currently has no co-morbidities. Also, all deceased patients were unvaccinated.
From the beginning of the pandemic to today, 65,857 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.
