
Almost 5,000 cases of coronavirus and five deaths among Covid patients were registered in Romania over the last day, the Ministry of Health reported on Monday.
Over the last day, 4,955 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection were registered, which is 861 more than on Sunday. 954 of the new cases in 24 hours were re-infected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the initial infection.
In specialized medical facilities, the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 3,392, which is 417 more than the previous day. Also, 204 people were hospitalized in ATZ, which is 18 more than the previous day.
Of the 204 patients admitted to the HTI, 172 are unvaccinated.
Out of the total number of hospitalized, 565 are minors, 562 of them are in wards, which is 82 more than the previous day, and 3 are in hospital, as in the previous day.
As of today, 65,862 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 have died. Between 24/07/2022 (10:00) and 25/07/2022 (10:00) INSP reported 5 deaths (2 males and 3 females), with no deaths reported prior to the reference interval.
Out of 5 deaths, 1 was registered in the age category of 50-59 years, 1 in the age category of 60-69 years, and 3 in the age category over 80 years. All deceased patients had concomitant diseases and were not vaccinated.
Over the last day, 1,999 PCR tests and 12,487 rapid antigen tests were conducted. To date, 13,282,870 RT-PCR tests and 10,616,830 rapid antigen tests have been processed at the national level.
