US President Joe Biden is “feeling good” and is continuing isolation measures after he tested positive for Covid-19 again a day ago, his doctor said in a news broadcast from the White House on Sunday, Reuters reported.

“Given the relapse and the new positive test we announced yesterday, we have continued daily monitoring. This morning, as expected, his test for the SARS-CoV-2 antigen remained positive,” said the doctor, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, during the briefing.

Joe Biden, who initially tested positive for Covid-19 ten days ago, ended his isolation period on Wednesday after five days of treatment and two negative tests for the coronavirus.

He then stated that he had mild symptoms and urged vaccination.

However, the White House announced on Saturday that the US president had tested positive for Covid-19 again, just days after his last test came back negative.

Dr Kevin O’Connor attributed the new positive test to “relapse”, a phenomenon some Covid patients have also experienced.

At 79, Joe Biden is the oldest president in US history. He is on a full schedule of coronavirus vaccinations and received his fourth dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in March.
