Meryl Streep’s best role may be that of a woman who is still happily married. However, it turns out that everything is more complicated than that: the three-time Oscar-winning American actress and her husband Don Gummer have been living separately since at least 2017, according to DPA/TCA.

Last month, the couple celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary, but they “lived apart for more than 6 years,” said the representative of the main character of the film “It’s Complicated” (2009) in a statement to People magazine, currently 74 years old, writes Agerpres.

“Although they will always care for each other, they have decided to live separately,” the statement said.

Streep and the famous 76-year-old sculptor, a friend of her brother, tied the knot in 1978, just six months after the death of her lover John Casale, with whom she starred in The Deer Hunter (1978).

Streep and Gummer have four grown children: Henry, Mamie, Grace and Louise, all actors.

Gummer last accompanied Streep to the 90th Academy Awards in 2018, where she was nominated for Best Actress for her portrayal of Katharine Graham in The Mail (2017).Steven Spielberg.
