Canadian rapper Drake announced on Friday that he will take a break from his music career for “a year or more” to focus on his health, citing “stomach issues”, AFP reported.
“I probably won’t be doing music for a while,” the artist explained on his radio program “Table for One”, adding: “I need to focus on my health and get back on my feet.”
The 36-year-old rapper said it’s “nothing serious” but that he’s had “all sorts of stomach issues” for a few years.
He added that he had other things to do, without giving details.
“I’m going to close the doors of the studio for a while,” the artist admitted, adding that the hiatus will last “maybe a year, maybe a little more.”
Several concerts that the rapper was going to hold in the USA have been postponed, according to the artist’s website and the Ticketmaster platform.
The announcement was made on the same day his new album For All The Dogs was released.
The rapper’s five-year-old son Adonis created the album cover and starred in the video for the song “8AM in Charlotte”. (Agerpres)
