It seems that Britney Spears is finally ready to share the story of her life after the legal guardianship, under which the American singer was for several years, was canceled in 2021, according to DPA/TCA.

The singer says she underwent “a lot of therapy” to write the book, which will tell the story of her fight to end her father’s legal control over her life and finances, according to Sky News.

The book “The Woman in Me” will be published by Gallery Books, a subsidiary of Simon & Schuster, and will be released on October 24, the singer announced on Twitter on Tuesday, writes Agerpres.

“Are you ready?”

Spears promoted the release of the book on social networks with a clip accompanied by the text: “Finally… my story, on my terms. Are you ready?”.

The Woman in Me, currently available for pre-order, is described as a “brave and stunningly moving story”, focusing on the singer’s efforts to end her legal guardianship after 13 years.

Gallery Books has acquired the rights to the memoir after a bidding war with other publishers, according to information exclusively published on Tuesday.

The publisher said The Woman in Me was written with “wonderful candor and humor.” According to Gallery Books, “the ground-breaking book shines a light on the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman finally telling her story on her own terms.”

“Cruel” guardianship

In November 2021, a judge in Los Angeles decided to end the singer’s controversial 13-year guardianship, which she described as “abusive”.

The singer already won the case after the court removed his father Jamie Spears from the role of guardian, which she complained about for several months. But above all, she demanded the right to manage her personal life and the annulment of the right of guardianship, which her father had since 2008, citing his daughter’s psychological disorders.

In her approach, Britney Spears was supported by an “army” of fans who demanded the “release” of their idol.

Britney Spears’ music career, which began in the late 1990s, was accompanied by tabloids about her past love affairs, scandalous behavior and family drama.

After her guardianship ended, the singer criticized her family on social media, including her parents, Lynn and Jamie Spears, accusing them of alleged abuse.
