OUR Emma Stone And George Lanthimos collaborated again, this time to create the latter’s new film titled “Poor things“.
Photos published a few days ago are accompanied by the first official trailer.
The upcoming film is a story of “love, discovery and scientific courage” set in the Victorian era and based on the award-winning novel of the same name by Scottish author Alasdair Gray.
Stone plays Belle Baxter, a “Frankenstein woman” who comes back to life after her brain is replaced with that of her unborn child. She is in the film Willem Dafoe, who plays a smart but unorthodox scientist who brings Belle back. Stone’s pale skin in the trailer hints at the origin of the character she plays.
This is the first major role the actress is taking on since starring in the 2021 Disney movie Cruella. And, of course, one of her many collaborations with a Greek director, after The Chosen One, E and Bleach. “.
And while fans of the movie created by Lanthimos wait for his new project, the Motion Picture Association in February last year assigned the film an “inappropriate” rating.
Specifically, the film is rated “R” for “intense and pervasive sexual content, inappropriate nudity, disturbing gore material (lots of gore) and lewd language.”
The cast of the film includes: Mark Ruffalo, Jerrod Carmichael, Rami Youssef, Christopher Abbott, Margaret Quayle and others.
In addition to directing, Lanthimos also produced The Poor Girls, from a script by Tony McNamara (The Favourite).
