In less than a month, we will announce the winners of this year’s award. Oscar. In Hollywood, with the release of the first trailer for the 95th Awards, the countdown to the biggest celebration in cinema has officially begun.
They star in the trailer Jimmy Kimmel along with Jon Hamm and Charles Parnell (“Top Gun: Maverick”).
A short video that aired during The Jimmy Kimmel Show titled “Jimmy Kimmel Live!“, in fact, is a parody of the new film “Top Gun” with Tom Cruise in the title role, which was nominated for 6 “Oscars”.
“I have to admit, I didn’t expect to be asked to host again,” says Kimmel, who will take on the role for the third time. Ham adds, “We’ve interviewed a lot of people before you.”
Hamm then mentions several names that the Academy allegedly invited to perform the ceremony in front of Kimmel. Steve Martin, Steve Carell, Steve Austin, Steve Segal, Steve Erkel, Steve from Blue’s Clues. It’s just Steve.”
The video couldn’t help but notice the infamous slap that Will Smith gave to US host Chris Rock at last year’s ceremony.
“ABC challenged us to find a tough host who doesn’t hit hands,” explains Parnell. Kimmel replies, “That’s good because I can’t be spanked – I cry a lot.”
Explaining his plan for the evening, Kimmel refers to a 2017 awards show he hosted. There was confusion that year with La La Land winning the Oscar for Best Picture after being incorrectly announced before the stage was “filled” by the Moonlight crew, which was also the correct award.
The video also features nine-time Oscar winner Billy Crystal.
The 95th Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, March 12, 2023.
