Singer Rihanna returned to the stage on Sunday, soaring above the Super Bowl field, wowing the audience with a collage of her hits and revealing she is pregnant with her second child, Reuters reported.
Dressed in a bright red jumpsuit and baggy coat, Rihanna opened music’s biggest show by singing ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’ as she sat, her stomach noticeably round, on a suspended platform.
She was gradually lowered to the floor as she sang familiar songs from ‘Only Girl (In the World)’ to ‘Rude Boy’ and ‘Work’.
During the 13-minute performance, Rihanna was surrounded by dozens of dancers in white outfits.
It was the first performance of the 34-year-old winner of the “Grammy” award on stage in five years. Her last album, Anti, was released in 2016.
Rihanna’s appearance made social media users speculate that she is expecting another child. After the show, the representative of the singer confirmed that Rihanna is indeed pregnant.
The singer is raising a 9-month-old son from rapper A$AP Rocky. The rapper was spotted in the crowd at the stadium cheering on his girlfriend’s performance.
Rihanna ended her Super Bowl show with “Diamonds” and fireworks lit up the sky around the stadium.
Rihanna completes the list of celebrities who have performed at the Super Bowl, from Lady Gaga to Beyoncé, Prince, Madonna and the Rolling Stones. Television usually gathers about 100 million viewers in the United States alone.
During the pregame ceremony, country star Chris Stapleton sang the US National Anthem and Troy Kozur, the Oscar-winning star of “CODA”, performed the song in American Sign Language.
Sheryl Lee Ralph, star of the Emmy Award-winning “Abbott Elementary,” sang “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” a hymn that became known as the black national anthem, accompanied by a choir.
THANK YOU. Sheryl Lee Ralph sings Lift Evry Voice and Sing, ladies and gentlemen.
