
The grandson of legendary reggae singer Bob Marley, Joseph “Joe Mercy” Marley, was found dead on Tuesday in the United States, TMZ and the New York Post reported. The cause of death is currently unknown.
Joseph “Joe Merc” Marley, son of musician Stephen Marley and grandson of Bob Marley, was 31 years old.
A representative for Jo Mersa confirmed the death to Rolling Stone magazine, but did not specify the cause of death.
According to journalist Abka Fitz-Hanley, the American artist was allegedly found unresponsive in the car.
Florida radio station WZPP reported he died of an asthma attack, but did not specify a location.
Jo Merca spent her early years in Jamaica before moving to Florida during high school. He studied at Miami Dade College, according to the Jamaica Observer. Joe Merca was married and had a little girl.

In 2014, the artist released an EP called “Comfortable”, which contained tracks such as “Rock and Swing” and “Bogus”. He also released the hit single “Burn It Down” in 2016 and released his second mini-album “Eternal” in 2021.
Bob Marley, Joe Mercy’s grandfather, died in 1981 of melanoma at the age of 36. He had 11 children by seven different women.
