The meeting of the two famous actors took place when they starred in the medieval fantasy Excalibur (1981), and continued in a beautiful love story that lasted until 1985.

Helen Mirren (77 years old) revealed the details in an interview with AARP Magazine. She said that she made a shirt for each of her boyfriends. “Yeah, I made one for Liam too,” Mirren said, admitting they were very much in love.

He also worked for Peter O’Toole and director Taylor Hackford. But he does not admit that he has his own brand of shirts: “They are not successful at all.”

“We were not always destined to be together, but we loved each other very, very much. I love him so much even now. He’s a great guy.”

Mirren has publicly stated that she lived with Neeson for most of their relationship and that their relationship was serious. But people change. “Yeah, I mean, I’m a completely different person than I was when I was 22 or 23. And your skin changes. The body changes. And the way you think changes.”

After their relationship ended in 1985, she began a relationship with current husband Taylor Hackford, whom she met at an audition for the film White Nights. They married in December 1997 and are still together 25 years later.

When asked how Hickford makes her feel beautiful, Helen Mirren said: “Oh, I don’t think he ever makes me feel beautiful. It is not necessary. To be honest, that’s not why I love him.”

The actress is one of those who appreciated the time spent during the pandemic.

“After 20 years, I worked all the time. Many suffered in that terrible time. But it was good for me because I could be with my husband and sit at the table every night for six months — which I hadn’t done before — and not think about work,” says Mirren.
