Princess Genovia is back. Popular Movie”Princess Diaryis expected to return with a third chapter. According to a source cited by IndieWire, the film is in the early stages of development and designed for its platform Disney+.

The script is being written by Andrita Mukherjee (Supergirl), according to The Hollywood Reporter. Two films released in 2001 and 2004 starring Ann Hataway as well as Julie Andrews.

There have been no official statements about the actors who will participate yet. In fact, sources have not confirmed if Hathaway will return to one of her all-time favorite roles as Mia Thermopolis. However, in October, the actress said she was wondering if the third film would get the green light.

“I support this project. If we can somehow get Julie Andrews back, I think we will make a film. We would go to where she was, put a green screen behind her and just create a film,” the actress said in Entertainment Tonight interview.

Hathaway returned to the role in the 2004 sequel The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement with Chris Pine, whose character she marries. Both films were directed by Garry Marshall.
