The famous director and screenwriter is one of the most active supporters of film production, but this does not mean that he appreciates all films.

In fact, he even pointed to some periods as the most awkward in film history. And it seems we live in one of them.

In a recent interview, Tarantino not only pointed to the 1950s and 1980s, but even to the present: “Even though I saw more movies in the ’80s than ever before, I think back then – as in the ’50s -ti — it was the worst. period in Hollywood history. It is equaled only by the present, the current period!”

The present means, of course, a wave of superhero movies that, according to Tarantino, “anyone on the street” could have directed.

However, Tarantino also says that so many low-quality productions benefit “those who don’t fit, those who stand out from the crowd.”

Of course, Quentin Tarantino doesn’t hate all the movies that are made, and he appreciates that some of them are even great.

For example, he enjoyed Top Gun: Maverick and Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, saying they “gave me a real cinematic spectacle that I almost thought we’d never see again.”

He also enjoyed recent horror films such as The Creeps and Dr. Sleep.

What do you think of Quentin Tarantino’s thoughts on the current state of cinema? Is he right or lying?
