Her last film was Candidates for Deputies in 1980. As for her last television appearance, it was in the 1982 series Hairdressers – Hairdryer Stories.
She married Simeon Kolokotas, from whom they had a daughter, Joanna, the wife of the politician Vangelis Meimarakis.

The Minister of Culture and Sports, Lina Mendoni, upon learning of the disappearance of Nica Maroud, made the following statement:
“With her special voice and recognizable figure, with an excessive headdress for those times and a flying gait, Nitsa Maruda created in Greek cinema the image of a naive girl who, although not usually central, was indispensable next to the main characters of her favorite Greek films. He played with most of the great leading actors and often outshone everyone with even one line. Her presence in Greek cinema testifies to the talent and ingenuity with which the Greek actors in the cinema of that time created a completely individual type that no one else could play. I extend my deepest condolences to her daughter Joanna and Vangelis Meimarakis and to her many friends.”
Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports Nicolas Giatromanolakis said:
“Nica Maruda, with her talent and the characters she created, became an integral part of the Greek films of the 60s and 70s in which she participated. Performing mostly comedic roles alongside the “holy monsters” of the time, such as Alexandrakis, Voutsas and Karezi, Nica Maruda managed to stand out with her hard work and humor. Condolences to her family and loved ones.”
