OUR Danny Boyle (“Slumdog Millionaire”, “Trainspotting”) planned to stage a musical adaptation of the hit sci-fi film”Matrix» since 1999.
Project name “Free your mindand – courtesy of Warner Bros. Studio. Theater Ventures – debuts next October at the Factory International stage. This is a new art space in Manchester, UK. This particular production will open the work of this space.
“Combining the hip-hop choreography of hundreds of dancers with scenes from the film, Free Your Mind will take viewers on an exciting journey through The Matrix into a new realm of possibility,” the statement said.
It’s an unusual move for Boyle, who won an Oscar for Slumdog Millionaire, but not entirely unexpected.
The music for the show was written by Mikey Jay, while Kenrick “H2O” Sandy is in charge of the choreography.
