Among the films that will premiere in Venice festival who will roll out the red carpet this year from from August 31 to September 10 in the Italian city will also be “WHALE”, i.e. his new movie Darren Aronofsky.
The premiere of the film is just around the corner, and he saw the light. first image from the movie “The Whale” and in it we see an almost unrecognizable Brendan Fraser, which seems much stronger for the needs of the lead role.
“The Whale” comes out for Aronofsky 5 years after the controversial “Mom!”, which completely divided the public and critics and will be produced by A24.
The film is based on his play of the same name. Samuel D. Hunter, whose theatrical production won several awards in 2012.
For The Whale, Aronofsky teamed up again with Matthew Limbatic in the direction of photography, while, in addition to Brendan Fraser, in this we will also see Hong Chow, Ty Simpkins, Samantha Morton and Sadie Sink which most of us met through Stranger Things.
The latter also plays Fraser’s daughter, who takes on the role of a teacher with an eating disorder who tries to reconnect with her daughter.
Last year, lead actor Brendan Fraser told Unilad about his role in the film: “It’s going to be something you’ve never seen before. That’s all I can tell you. The wardrobe and costumes were elaborate. Of course, this will be far from what I did not to play carelessly. I know it will leave a strong impression.”
Regarding the adaptation of The Whale, Samuel S. Hunter, who also wrote the screenplay, told Deadline, “Turning a play into a screenplay was a love affair for me. This story is deeply personal, and I am very grateful that it will have the opportunity to reach out to a wider audience. I’ve been a fan of Darren ever since I saw Requiem for a Dream when I was a freshman in college writing my first plays and I’m so grateful that he brought his unique talent and perspective to this film.”
The film does not yet have an official release date.
