Officials from Poland and Ukraine signed a cooperation agreement to study the possibility of building a Warsaw-Lviv-Kyiv high-speed line in the distant future. It is not known whether it will be possible to implement it, especially since while the war is going on, it is not an issue, but there will be certain steps and working groups will be created first.

Lviv is not even 100 km from the border with Poland, and from Kyiv to Lviv (650 km) there are large sections where trains reach 150 km/h.

Poland has a railway network with a maximum speed of 200 km/h, and would like to build lines with higher speeds. The Ukrainian railway network was well developed, in many sections 130-150 km/h, but the war took its toll, but the UZ company played an important role in military operations and in the transportation of the population.

Ukraine has trains to Poland, the Kyiv-Chisinau train was also launched, and recently the border connection with Romania was restored in Maramures.

A cooperation agreement was signed in Warsaw between Ukrainian Railways (UZ) and the Central Communication Port (CPK) of Poland, CPK wants to become a major air and rail transport hub, with the intention of building an airport within this decade that will replace the current Warsaw Chopin Airport.

If there is a new railway, the maximum speed on the European track can be 250 km/h. The agreement is concluded for three years, and the first step is the creation of working groups to determine the next steps and prepare the necessary documentation.

Only after that will it be decided whether it is necessary to make a technical and economic feasibility study.
