In 2022, the new car market grew by 7%, and the year became the first in which more than 10,000 electric cars were sold in the country. Logan became the best-selling car model, Hyundai Tucson became the most popular model of a foreign brand, and Spring became the first place among electric cars, according to APIA data.

The market of new cars grew by 6.8%, up to 128,000 cars. The most popular model was Dacia Logan — 11,402 units, and Duster found more than 10,100 buyers. The Sandero was at three, the Spring at four, and the Hyundai Tucson at five, with more than 3,000 units sold.

And the Ford Puma model, produced in Kraiów, found more than 3,000 buyers, and the top 10 was completed by Toyota Corolla, Dacia Jogger, Skoda Octavia and Renault Clio. Ten models together occupy more than 40% of the market. Compared to 2021, Logan sales fell by 14%, Duster grew by 12%, Ford Puma – by 3%, Renault Clio – by 18%.

SUVs took 42.7% of the market, C-class — about 26%, and B-class — about 18.8%. SUVs had another successful year, increasing sales by 9%.

Gasoline cars occupy a total of 64.5% of the market, which is close to the situation in 2021. Diesel continued to decline from a share of 18.8% in 2021 to 13.8% last year. In December, the share of diesel reached 12.1%.

Dacia sold the most diesel models, over 5,700, followed by Skoda (over 2,500), Volkswagen (over 1,500) and BMW (1,216 vehicles). Other brands that still matter in diesel cars are Peugeot, Audi, Ford, Mercedes and Renault.

The all-electric 2022 brought a record total of 11,611 units (an increase of 83%), of which 6,830 were Dacia Spring. Tesla finished with 1,020 cars, Volkswagen with 895 and Hyundai with 503.

Tesla Model 3 sold 759 copies, Volkswagen e-Up! ended with 514 units, the electric Hyundai Kona had 365 and the Renault Zoe found 269 customers.
