CFR SA says that for 2023 it estimates the following receptions between Cimmeria and Arad:

  • 18 km in section 2b Bârzava-Ilteu, contract value of works 2,085,565,017.01 lei, start date: 27.07.2017, estimated completion date August 2023, developer: “Webuild – FCC – Salcef – Thales” association, lot 2b “;
  • 6 km on section 2c Ilteu-Gurasada, contract value of works 1,783,898,405.02 lei, start date: 03.12.2017, estimated completion date December 2023, developer: Railworks Association;
  • 23 km in section 3 Gurasada-Simeria, contract value of works 3,101,195,448.78 lei, start date: 03.10.2017, estimated completion date September 2023, developer: Association FCC-Astaldi-Convensa, section 3.

In July 2023, rail traffic should resume on line 102 Bucharest – Hradištia – Giurgiu, completing the construction site between Vidra and Comana, including the Hradištia Bridge (12 km in total). The physical stage of implementation is 36%.

Work will continue on the sections between Brasov and Sighisoara, where from now on the work will continue for a long time. On the section Cața – Sighisoara, the degree of completion is 19%, and between Apața – Cața – 13%.

Which construction sites will start in 2023

“In 2023, work will begin on new sections for which contracts have been signed, respectively on the sections Cluj-Napoca – Oradea – Episcopia Bihor, Lugoz – Arad and Arad Nou – Glogovec. At the same time, from 2023, the recovery works will begin to modernize the lines at Fetești and Ciulnița stations,” say representatives of CNCF CFR SA.
