
All-electric cars had a great month in November, accounting for 18% of the total market, with the Tesla Model Y becoming the best-selling car in Europe. Dacia Sandero was second and Toyota Yaris third, according to JATO data.
More than one million new cars were sold in Europe last month, up from 860,000 in November 2021. 53% of cars were gasoline, 15% diesel and 17% fully electric.
Tesla Model Y became the best-selling car with more than 19,000 units, and Dacia Sandero found more than 18,000 buyers. Three more models exceeded the threshold of 15,000 cars: Toyota Yaris, Fiat 500 and Peugeot 208. The top 10 was completed mainly by Volkswagen models (Golf, T-Roc and Tiguan), as well as Renault Clio and Toyota Yaris Cross.
Among the cars that were launched recently, the best selling models were Volkswagen Taigo, Dacia Jogger, BMW i4, Volvo C40, BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, Volkswagen ID5, Mazda CX-60, Renault Austral and Alfa Romeo Tonale.
After the Tesla Model Y, the Tesla Model 3 also became the best-selling electric car, followed by the Volkswagen ID 4 and ID 3. The Dacia Spring came in 7th place on the list of “electrics” with more than 5,500 units.
