WhatsApp has announced the launch of 3D avatars that can be used as profile pictures or sent as stickers. The announcement comes months after testing the app’s use of avatars.
Here is Mark Zuckerberg’s post
“We’re adding avatars to WhatsApp! You can now use your avatar as a sticker in chat. Soon, other forms will appear in all our programs.”
“Users can now create their own avatar and use it as their WhatsApp profile picture instead of a real photo for more privacy, or choose to send it as one of 36 custom stickers.”
Avatars were introduced a few months ago on Instagram, Facebook and Messenger.
Users will also be able to create their own avatars by entering the settings menu.
