Starting next year, the threshold for micro-enterprises will drop to €500,000, but in the following years it can be lowered even more, given the statements of the State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Alin Chitu.
“Let’s see the effect of these measures. We have some activities that we have shared. It was a political decision, the main issue was not the budgetary goal of attracting more money, but to ensure a balance between the players in the market. With 1 million euros at the beginning, there is no longer necessarily a company,” Chitu said.
For now, he says, let the new rules enter into force with amendments in parliament.
“This does not prevent us from achieving our milestone goal for the PNRR. After we evaluate and see the effect, we will see if this is the case (let’s not lower the limit anymore). In the meantime, we will also have the World Bank report,” he added during the event organized by PwC Romania.
