You have exceptional results in the tax inspection or you are a less efficient inspector, you have the same salary, says Lucian Geius, president of ANAF.
“Now there is a single system of remuneration: you work a lot, you work a little, the same category, class, seniority – you get the same money,” he says.
Geius observed that there is a disincentive for the very good: “Why should I take so many risks? Why should I argue when my colleague, who spends more time over coffee or in the hallway on the phone, gets the same salary as me?”
“We as a state must overcome this unitary thinking mechanism. And the law of wages is called the law of unit wages. We no longer need to think as one,” said the President of ANAF during the event organized by PwC Romania.
In his opinion, the system should be considered from the point of view of effectiveness, “the result that you get even within the framework of the administrative system. I believe that this is one of the great reforms that the state as a whole should make.”
