The bridge is 9 km from Craiova railway station, 45 km from Caracal and 200 km from Bucharest. From August 12 to September 4, 2018, there was no traffic on the viaduct at all, and between Caracal and Kraiova, trains were detoured for more than 30 km.

The viaduct is located 200 km from Bucharest, on highway 100 Bucharest – Timisoara, where trains take more than ten hours for 533 km and there are many speed limits.
