The faster technologies develop, the harder it is to keep up with them. Maybe that’s why it’s worth learning about the Samsung Galaxy A53 now, with the biggest storage space available. This is a new model launched in 2022, but this is just the beginning.

Why the Samsung Galaxy A53 is probably the best value phone for most Romanians, especially in the 256GB version Photo: Samsung Romania

It’s been a few years since Samsung delivered on two promises with its phone lineup: that the top of the line is great, and that if you want something that strikes the right balance between performance and price, then you turn to the Galaxy A series. Here’s the Samsung Galaxy A53 that I had the chance to use last week and see which features I’d recommend also appear on the chart.

The Samsung Galaxy A53 is a phone where you’ll notice the screen first. With a diagonal of 6.5 inches, it can be the perfect place for both the Internet and social networks, as well as watching YouTube videos or movies and series on various streaming platforms – it also has Dolby Atmos sound to make it even better. It has Full HD+ resolution and very good brightness. At the same time, it has a high refresh rate (120 Hz). What should interest you in it is that everything looks better when you have a higher refresh rate and 120Hz is the sweet spot.

The back is matte, in several colors, and in the upper left corner is the camera module. And here is the really good news. It has a main camera of 64 megapixels and three others, distributed as follows: 12 MP, 5 MP and 5 MP. On the front panel — 32-megapixel. When it comes to a Samsung phone, the camera hardware is also important, but especially the app with modes for portrait, for videos with different resolutions and speeds, and numerous other options, such as macro for posting on Instagram and other types of photos. .

It should also be mentioned that in terms of specifications, the Samsung Galaxy A53 also has 5G, but also a 5000 mAh battery. Coupled with the optimizations that Samsung has made, you can get almost two days with it, and in any case, it will keep you away from the outlet all day.

Why should you choose the Samsung Galaxy A53 if you still want to change your phone

I’ve talked about the launch of the Galaxy A50 series in recent years, and it’s consistently stood out as the most “thought out” mid-range choice. The Samsung Galaxy A53 works at the same level. If you’re in the market for a new phone, you might want to consider it for its screen, battery, and Samsung optimizations. Let’s take them one at a time.

It’s been more than a decade since Samsung stood out with AMOLED screens on phones. Galaxy A53 was no exception. It’s a generous display that also includes a fingerprint sensor, with very good brightness levels and very good color reproduction.

As for optimization, which also includes a way to get more autonomy from the phone, Samsung has been implementing the One UI interface on all models for several years. The base is Android, but on top of that there are tweaks that make the phone stand out, make it easier to interact with, and perform better than similarly configured alternatives. It is also worth mentioning the Game Booster option, which optimizes the way the phone uses battery and memory, keeping the temperature at an optimal level.

Now there is another dilemma before the choice: which version to choose? Most likely, you belong to the type of user who changes their phone with some regularity, but not earlier than two years. In this case, the smartest solution would be to choose the version with more storage space every time. The Samsung Galaxy A53 also shoots 4K, and you can even take some shots up to 64 megapixels if you really want to. They include applications and games, as well as other files that would quickly end up on your phone.

A better choice would be a variant with 256 GB of memory instead of 128 GB. If you only look at the numbers, it might be harder to draw a conclusion, so I broke the bank – literally. If you keep the phone for two years (on average), then you pay 41 money per day to get more storage space. It is literally small and saves you from several undesirable scenarios: waking up that you have no more storage space and need to delete images, or that you can no longer install anything because you have nowhere to go, and then you need to cut somewhere.

Sending reports to a smartphone, be it this model or another, should be easy: it’s more than just a phone. It’s a computer – you can even connect it to a Windows system to have easier access to files and some programs, it’s a way to keep in touch with loved ones or professionally, you store documents on it, you use different programs with more -less sensitive data and over time should give you what you need, especially in terms of specs, security (both via Samsung Knox and Secure Folder and the fingerprint scanner) and entertainment. Given such parameters, and not only the price, it is easier to choose.

This is just a good place to draw conclusions after using the phone, as well as after intermittent almost ten years of experience with Samsung models. The Samsung Galaxy A53 in the 256 GB version offers excellent autonomy, a safe and intuitive operating system, a very good screen and a 64 MP camera with image stabilization. And still the best price for all this. Indeed, it does not come with a charger and headphones, it only has a USB-C cable. If you don’t have a charger, I recommend a 25-watt one because the phone has fast charging.

At this price point – under 2000 lei – it’s the best phone you can buy in Romania without any further surprises, from service to software glitches. Samsung also promises security updates over several years.
