Renault presented at the Paris Motor Show a concept SUV called the 4ever Trophy, which also draws inspiration from the design of the Renault 4 models of the past. The 4ever Trophy gives an idea of what the B-class electric SUV that the French will release in 2025 will look like.
The car will enter a market where the most important models are the Opel Mokka-e, the Peugeot e-2008 and the Hyundai Kona Electric, the latter having very good sales.
Renault 4ever Trophy is 4.16 meters long, which is 9 cm shorter than one of Renault’s best-selling SUVs, the Captur model.
All-electric SUVs represent a segment where sales are expected to grow significantly, and the big bet is to launch cheaper models that cost less than €25,000 before government subsidies apply.
The 4ever Trophy also features some retro design elements inspired by the Renault 4 models that sold millions from the 60s to the early 90s.
As with the Renault 5, another retro model with a modern interpretation, the French brand is betting on the public’s desire to have a modern car, but which is unusual thanks to its retro design elements.
In the serial version, the car will have a 42 kWh battery and a 100 kW engine.
What Renault says about the new concept
“The 4EVER Trophy, an icon, has been updated to become a B-segment electric SUV
30 years after it ceased production, Renault presents a modern electric interpretation of its iconic Renault 4 at the 2022 Paris Motor Show: the 4EVER Trophy. This show car in a light adventurer configuration celebrates the 25th anniversary of the 4L Trophy Humanitarian Rally. It is a harbinger of the future 100% electric B-segment SUV, which will be launched in 2025 and produced in France at the Manufacture de Maubeuge in the ElectriCity cluster.”
The car will be produced in Moberge (France), in an industrial center dedicated to electric vehicles.
