
CFR Infrastructura has restored after a series of repairs the railway line Valea Vişeului (Romania) – Berlibas (Ukraine), a transit line for passenger trains, which aims to improve the railway infrastructure connection between Ukraine and Romania. It is not known when the first trains will run.
18 km from Valea Vişeului to Berlibas (Ukraine), and 20 km between Teresva (Ukraine) and Sighetu Marmatsia, through Kampulung to Tysa, are currently being repaired.
In the mid-2000s, the line 423 Berlibas (UA) – Sighetu Marmaciei – Teresva (UA) briefly appeared in Mersul Trenurilor, where the start and end points were in Ukraine. Of the 63 km that this line had, 44 km were on the territory of Romania.

Even 16 years ago, domestic passenger trains ran on line 411 Sighetu Marmații – Câmpulung la Tisa, 12 km. In the 1980s, four trains a day ran in one direction on the broad gauge, and in 1993 there were 5 trains in one direction from the border with Ukraine on this line.

In order to resume passenger train traffic on the Valea Vişeului (CFR) – Berlibas (UZ) broad gauge line, SRCF Cluj carried out maintenance work under its own management, replacing approximately 1,400 special wooden sleepers, 36 tons of small sleepers. track material and completion of the line with 400 tons of crushed stone.
SRCF Cluj continues the railway infrastructure repair program, works aimed at optimizing the cross-border rail connection Teresva (UZ) – Kampulung la Tisa (CFR) – Sighetu Marmaciei – Bocicoi – Valea Viseului (CFR) – Berlibas (UZ) link, currently repairs are underway on the broad-gauge line, from the Teresva (UZ) – Câmpulung la Tisa (CFR) – Sighetu Marmaciei border crossing, the work is scheduled to be completed in November, a month in which, depending on weather conditions, repairs will also begin on the central section of this Sighetu Marmaciei section – Bochikoy – Valya Visheului.

– 13 CF lines were restored (6 lines with normal gauge, 7 lines with broad gauge).
Falciu station
– CF Zorleni – Fălciu – Fălciu Frontieră line reopened
Cristești – Jijia station
– 5 CF lines reopened (3 broad gauge lines and 2 normal gauge lines)
Sokol station
– 2 CF lines (broad gauge and standard gauge) are reopened
Port of Galati
– 2 CF lines were restored, namely the CF line Galati Largă Ana – Galati Bazin – Galati Marfuri – Port Dockuri (broad gauge) and the line CF Siloz Port Docuri – Galati Marfuri – Galati Călători (standard gauge).
