TikTok is launching new features that allow users to more easily customize clips, sounds, images or text in a brand new editing environment. Photo Mode was also launched, introducing a new carousel format available in the mobile version of the app.

TikTok’s new editing tools allow users to more easily adjust clips, sounds, images or text in a completely new editing environment, all within the TikTok creative flow, which includes:

• Editing clips: Combine, trim and split video clips.

• Editing sounds: trimming, shortening and setting the duration of sounds.

• Text editing and positioning: Easier to edit, position and set the duration of text.

• Add overlay content: Add overlay images and video clips for picture-in-picture or video-in-video content.

• Adjust video speed: Speed ​​up or slow down video clips.

• Content framing: Rotate and zoom in and out for each individual video.

Photo Mode function

Photo Mode is a new carousel format available in the mobile version of the app, perfect for those who want to share high-quality images on TikTok. Photo mode is designed for users who want to post in a variety of formats in addition to video.

“Thus, with Photo Mode, the TikTok community has the ability to share carousel content consisting of static images that are automatically displayed one after the other. In addition, content creators can add sounds to images so users can watch content at their own pace,” the company says.

This option will soon be available for authors in Romania.

Longer descriptions in photo mode

“The TikTok community can add longer descriptions, up to 2,200 characters, for each post made in photo mode. With the additional space, TikTok aims to give creators another way to express themselves and connect with the TikTok community to create stories around content that is shared in a new format, photo mode.”
