The coalition will extend for three months 50 bani of fuel price compensation
On Monday evening, the government coalition reached an agreement on a three-month extension of the compensation of 50 pesos to the price of fuel, sources close to the negotiations told HotNews.ro on Monday.
According to the sources cited, the Liberals felt it necessary to keep the diesel-only subsidy as gasoline prices stabilized.
It should be noted that the PSD did not agree with the PNL proposal and asked for a continuation of the price reduction for both diesel and gasoline. Political sources told HotNews.ro that keeping the diesel-only subsidy “would be a discriminatory measure.”
At the same time, the UDMR claimed that the fuel compensation measure for both gasoline and diesel should last until spring, as the budget can cover these costs.
The fuel subsidy was applied for three months and ends on September 30.
The budget impact for three months amounted to 900 million lei.
