
In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine, telemedicine was one of the solutions that limited the spread of the virus and at the same time helped the health care system cope with the increased demand for regular consultations. Thus, private medical networks as well as public institutions have made virtual consultation platforms available to patients, many of which are still in operation.
After almost two years of development of the general legislative framework for telemedicine, the government’s decision approved methodological norms regulating the provision of remote medical services in more than 50 medical specialties, the main purpose of which is prevention. However, with telemedicine, two or more medical professionals can remotely form multidisciplinary teams to analyze, interpret and diagnose patients with rare diseases or cases of chronic diseases.
In this way, the legislative framework is created to facilitate investment in telemedicine platforms and increase access to medical services.
