A partnership between the Lockheed Martin Science, Technology and Engineering Laboratory and Research Laboratory (STELaRLab) and the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (UTCN) will explore the development of a distributed autonomous system for humanitarian aid and disaster relief that will allow better planning and execution of emergency interventions, according to a press release releases of the American company.

The goal of STELaRLab and UTCN is to provide automated tools that combine environmental sensor information from distributed sensing platforms with artificial intelligence to achieve better situational awareness in emergency situations.
